Lg Tvs Streaming Xbox Games

SEOUL, South Korea — Starting today, LG owners can download the Xbox app on select models. The new app gives users access to Xbox Cloud Gaming, allowing them to stream games directly to their TVs.

The rollout includes LG’s 2022 OLED TVs, select 2023 smart TVs, and newer models that run webOS 24 or higher. Users with compatible devices can also expect support for LG’s portable StanbyME screens to come soon.

To access the Xbox app, LG TV owners need to download it from the LG app store. The app provides a console-like gaming experience and eliminates the need to buy an Xbox Series S or X. Users will need to connect a Bluetooth-enabled controller and subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to fully utilize the service.

“The Xbox app will let LG TV owners stream Xbox games directly to their TVs,” said a Microsoft representative. “Players can enjoy a variety of titles including popular games available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.”

The Xbox Cloud Gaming service aims to broaden Xbox’s availability across multiple platforms, allowing for seamless gaming without traditional consoles. Microsoft had previously expanded this feature to Samsung smart TVs earlier this year.

To stream games, users will navigate to the LG Gaming Portal, download the Xbox app, and sign into their Microsoft account. Once set up, they can choose from a wide selection of games to play, including renowned titles like “Avowed” and “South of Midnight.”

This update marks a significant step in Microsoft’s goal to make gaming more accessible, allowing players to enjoy hundreds of games directly on their TVs without the constraints of owning a dedicated gaming console.
