LG Twins Partner with Seoul Education Office for Sports Program

Seoul, South Korea – The LG Twins baseball team signed a business agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education on April 17 to promote the ‘New Dream Ground’ initiative. This project aims to enhance sports experiences for vulnerable students and support their career exploration.
The signing ceremony occurred before the Twins’ home game against the NC Dinos at Jamsil Baseball Stadium. Notable attendees included Chung Geun-sik, superintendent of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, and Kim In-seok, CEO of LG Sports.
After the agreement, over 200 individuals, including vulnerable students and their families, enjoyed the LG-NC game together, marking a celebratory moment. The ‘New Dream Ground’ project is a part of a broader initiative, ‘New Dream Plus (+),’ which focuses on educational welfare and extends support to the sports field.
Through this partnership, LG will offer about 1,200 educationally vulnerable students opportunities to watch professional baseball games and participate in programs like baseball classes and cheerleading schools. These activities will take place once a month, six times a month until the end of 2025, helping foster emotional and social stability through sports.
Superintendent Chung Geun-sik expressed hope that the program will enable educationally vulnerable students to develop healthy bodies and minds while discovering new dreams. He emphasized the commitment to cooperating with the local community for fair educational opportunities.
An LG official commented on the importance of this initiative, stating, ‘We are very meaningful that our players can deliver dreams and hopes to future generations.’ The official added that LG will continue its various social contribution activities to support underprivileged youth.
