Two Drivers Arrested for Reckless Driving in Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Two drivers face reckless driving charges after speeding incidents over the weekend in Corpus Christi.
Joshua Blowe, 25, was arrested Friday night when police clocked him driving at over 95 mph on Highway 358. Officers found a small child in the backseat of Blowe’s car, leading to an additional charge of child endangerment.
In a separate incident early Saturday morning, police stopped Matthew Cortinas, 20, for driving over 80 mph on North Shoreline Boulevard, where the speed limit is just 35 mph. Officers noted that Cortinas temporarily lost control of his vehicle while navigating a sharp curve but managed to regain control and continue down Shoreline Boulevard.
Both drivers had their vehicles impounded and were booked into the City Detention Center. The Corpus Christi Police Department continues to monitor speeding violations to ensure public safety.
