Tyler Perry Reveals Trailer for Madea’s Destination Wedding Ahead of Premiere

LOS ANGELES, CA — Tyler Perry has unveiled the first trailer for “Madea‘s Destination Wedding,” the 13th film in the Madea franchise, set to premiere on July 11, 2025. This new entry marks the second Madea film created in partnership with Netflix, following “A Madea Homecoming” in 2022.
In “Madea’s Destination Wedding,” Madea (played by Perry) travels to the Bahamas with her family to attend her grandniece Tiffany‘s (Diamond White) surprise wedding to a rapper she recently met. The unexpected engagement, with the wedding planned for just two weeks away, raises eyebrows among Tiffany’s parents, Brian (also played by Perry) and Debrah (Taja V. Simpson).
The trailer showcases the blend of humor and chaos typical of the franchise as tensions rise during their tropical getaway. As Madea prepares for the wedding, she voices her concerns, noting, “something ain’t right about it at all,” despite her family trying to calm her.
This film is part of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the Madea franchise, which began with the 2005 film “Diary of a Mad Black Woman.” Perry, who has a history of writing, directing, and producing Madea films, has teamed up again with long-time collaborators, including Cassi Davis, Tamela Mann, and David Mann.
The project wrapped production in January and is widely anticipated by fans of the franchise, who appreciate Perry’s unique blend of comedy and heartfelt moments. “Madea’s Destination Wedding” is part of Perry’s ongoing collaboration with Netflix, adding to a growing list of projects available on the platform.
The film promises a mix of hilarious antics and heartfelt family dynamics as it delves into themes of love and unexpected surprises, all set against the beautiful backdrop of the Bahamas.
