UAE to Host Extra T20I Against Bangladesh on May 21

SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates — The Emirates Cricket Board announced Monday that an additional T20I match between the United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh will take place on May 21 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
The decision to add the match comes after discussions between the Emirates Cricket Board and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The game will start at 7:00 PM local time, mirroring the schedule of the second match in the series, which is set for Monday.
Initially, the two teams were scheduled to compete in a two-match series. However, the new addition allows both teams extra practice time ahead of their upcoming international fixtures. Bangladesh secured victory in the series opener, winning by 27 runs thanks to a spectacular century from Parvez Hossain Emon.
The broadcast of the series will be available globally, including on T-Sports in Bangladesh, Fancode in India, Cricbuzz in MENA, Geo Super in Pakistan, and Willow TV in the United States and Canada.
The BCB had proposed the extra match to gain more experience before heading to Pakistan for a planned five-match T20I series. The uncertainty surrounding the Pakistan tour, influenced by regional political tensions, led the BCB to seek additional game time.
Logistically, this match helps the Bangladesh team as it prepares for travel to Pakistan, should the series proceed as planned. The BCB has indicated it will consult with its players regarding travel to Pakistan, taking into account their safety and the geopolitical climate.
Bangladesh’s UAE tour began with a strong start, and the team is eager to build on their success while continuing to assess their travel plans.
