UEFA Nations League 2024-25: Schedule, Groups, and Key Dates
The UEFA Nations League 2024-25 is nearing its climax, with the League Phase set to conclude on Tuesday, 19th November 2024. Here are the key dates and details for the tournament.
The League Phase, which began on Thursday, 5th September, is divided into six matchdays. The final matchday (Matchday 6) is scheduled from 17th to 19th November 2024. During this phase, 54 UEFA member nations are split into four leagues (A, B, C, and D), with each league further divided into groups of four teams, except for League D which has two groups of three teams.
In League A, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Quarter-Finals, with the draw for these matches to be held on 22nd November 2024. The teams that finish bottom of their groups in League A will be relegated to League B, while the third-place teams will participate in the League A/B Play-Offs.
The Quarter-Finals are scheduled for the international break in March 2025, with the first leg on 20th March and the second leg on 23rd March. The Finals will take place during the June international break, with the Semi-Finals on 4th-5th June, the Third Place match on 8th June, and the Final also on 8th June 2025.
Notable upcoming matches include Croatia vs. Portugal, Poland vs. Scotland, and Spain vs. Switzerland, all taking place on the final matchday of the League Phase. Other significant matches include Hungary vs. Germany and Netherlands vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina, also on 19th November 2024.
The tournament also features promotion and relegation battles across all leagues. For example, England, currently in League B, is aiming to win their group and get promoted to League A, while Sweden, relegated to League C, is fighting to climb back up.
