Ufc 263 Event Gila River Arena

GLENDALE, Arizona — On June 12, 2021, the UFC held its memorable UFC 263 pay-per-view at Gila River Arena, marking just the third event since returning to arenas during the pandemic. Two championship titles were on the line, and the night was packed with action.

In the main event, Israel Adesanya defended his middleweight title against Marvin Vettori, while Brandon Moreno faced Deiveson Figueiredo for the flyweight championship. The event featured other notable fighters, including Leon Edwards, Belal Muhammad, and Jamahal Hill.

UFC 263 made history for less favorable reasons, breaking the record for the most decisions in a single card with 11 out of 14 fights going the distance. This surpassed the previous record held by five other events. The decision total was later matched at UFC Fight Night: Vieira vs. Tate in November 2021.

Among the victors on the night were Adesanya, Edwards, and Belal Muhammad. The event also set a new record for fight duration, totaling 3 hours and 19 minutes. Despite these records, the night delivered thrilling moments, including Moreno’s emotional title win.

One of the standout performances was by Terrance McKinney, who recorded the fastest finish in UFC lightweight history, knocking out Matt Frevola in just seven seconds. Meanwhile, Scottish fighter Paul Craig ended his bout with Jamahal Hill in under two minutes, showcasing his skills.

Looking ahead to June 14, 2025, Craig is set to return to the octagon at UFC Fight Night in Atlanta. Fans are eager to see if he can replicate his quick finish against his next opponent.
