Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Collapses at Maharashtra Rally Due to Heat, Receives Immediate Medical Attention
Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari faced a health scare during an election rally in Yavatmal, Maharashtra, today as he collapsed while delivering a speech, suspected to be due to a heatstroke. Immediate medical assistance was provided to Gadkari at the scene, leading to the temporary halt of the campaign event.
Gadkari’s condition necessitated his admission to a private hospital in Yavatmal for further medical attention. The incident raised concerns among supporters and colleagues present at the rally, highlighting the physical strain and challenges faced by political figures during campaign season.
The campaign rally in Yavatmal was in support of BJP candidate Rajashree Patil, who hails from the faction of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde within the ruling Mahayuti alliance. The event’s interruption due to Gadkari’s health episode drew attention to the intensity and demands of the ongoing election campaigns in the region.
Earlier this year, there were speculations regarding Nitin Gadkari’s political future, particularly surrounding his delayed nomination by the BJP for the Lok Sabha elections in Nagpur. The delay prompted an interesting invitation from former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, suggesting a possible political realignment.
Thackeray’s proposal, inviting Gadkari to join the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance led by Congress, Shiv Sena, and Nationalist Congress Party, was met with a response from Gadkari terming it as ‘immature’. This exchange highlighted the intricate political landscape and alliances shaping up in Maharashtra ahead of the upcoming elections.
The Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde, and the breakaway NCP faction under Ajit Pawar, is currently navigating seat-sharing negotiations in the run-up to the polls. The allocation of key seats like Nashik, Thane, and Mumbai South remains a focal point of discussion and contention within the alliance.
As polling progresses in Maharashtra, with upcoming phases including constituencies like Amravati, Hingoli, Nanded, and others, the unfolding events underscore the dynamic and fast-paced nature of electoral politics in the state. Nitin Gadkari’s health incident serves as a reminder of the physical and mental toll associated with campaign activities during this critical period for political parties and candidates.
