Utah State University Women's Basketball Coach Fired After Disappointing Season

Utah State University has announced the dismissal of women’s basketball head coach, Kayla Ard, following a disappointing season culminating in a loss against the Boise State Broncos.

The decision to part ways with Ard, who held the position for four seasons, was revealed by Diana Sabau, the Vice President and Director of Athletics at Utah State University. Ard’s tenure saw the team achieve an overall record of 24-90, with a particularly challenging 10-62 record in Mountain West play.

The game against the Boise State Broncos, which ended in an 85-49 defeat for the Aggies, marked the culmination of a turbulent season for Utah State University’s women’s basketball program.

Following the game, Ard faced the media in a post-match press conference where she confirmed her termination, expressing acceptance of the decision and wishing the program well in its future endeavors.

Utah State University officials have stated that a nationwide search for a new head coach will commence promptly to steer the team in a new direction.
