Valtteri Bottas experienced a disappointing start to the Las Vegas Grand Prix, being knocked out of qualifying in the first session (Q1) on November 23, 2024. The Finnish driver, who is currently with the Sauber team, finished in 19th place under the lights of the Las Vegas Strip.

Bottas described the qualifying session as “just a messy session,” reflecting the challenges he faced during the event. This outcome is part of a tough season for Sauber, which has struggled to find consistent form throughout the year.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix, known for its unique night-time setting, presented several challenges for drivers, including Bottas. Despite his current struggles, there have been recent speculations about Bottas’s potential return to Mercedes, with team principal Toto Wolff suggesting it is “a matter of time” until Bottas rejoins the team.
