Von Miller Prepares for Lamar Jackson Challenge in AFC Divisional Showdown
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — As the Buffalo Bills prepare to face the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Divisional playoff game at Highmark Stadium on Sunday, linebacker Von Miller is acutely aware of the challenge posed by Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. Miller, who played just nine snaps in Week 4 against Baltimore before serving a four-game suspension, emphasized the need for a balanced approach to contain the dynamic quarterback.
“Going against Lamar Jackson, you don’t want to rush too conservative, but you don’t want to be too reckless at the same time,” Miller said. “You just gotta play your game…Cage rushing those guys each and every play is not effective. It’s Lamar Jackson, he’s gonna make plays. So, you just gotta rush. And you gotta be conscious of where you’re rushing and how you’re rushing. But at the end of the day, you just gotta go out there and play your game.”
In their Week 4 matchup, the Ravens dominated the Bills 35-10, with Jackson finishing 13 of 18 passing for 156 yards and two touchdowns, along with six carries for 54 yards and another score. The Ravens’ ground game, led by running back Derrick Henry, was a significant factor in that victory. The Bills’ defense, under coordinator Sean McDermott, will aim to prevent a repeat performance, but this could create opportunities for Jackson to exploit.
Jackson’s dual-threat capabilities make him one of the most dangerous players in the NFL. His ability to extend plays with his legs and deliver accurate throws under pressure poses a unique challenge for any defense. The Bills will need to maintain discipline in their pass rush while also accounting for Jackson’s mobility.
The game, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, promises to be a high-stakes battle between two of the league’s most explosive offenses. With Jackson and Bills quarterback Josh Allen leading their respective teams, fans can expect a thrilling contest that could come down to which defense can make the critical stops.
