Mohamed Salah emphasized team success over individual honors following Liverpool’s commanding 5-0 victory against West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday.

“I’m not thinking about the Ballon d’Or. I want to win the Premier League,” Salah stated post-match. “I will do my best for the team to win a trophy.”
Liverpool, under Arne Slot, extended their Premier League lead to eight points with their 23rd win in 27 matches across all competitions. Luis Diaz opened scoring before setting up Gakpo. Salah added his 20th goal this season, while Alexander-Arnold and Jota completed the rout.

Slot, who succeeded Jurgen Klopp, expressed satisfaction: “I enjoyed it a lot because it doesn’t happen many times that I could just sit back and enjoy.”

Manchester City’s struggles continued despite a 2-0 win over Leicester, with goals from Savinho and Haaland. They sit fifth, 14 points behind Liverpool with a game fewer played.

Nottingham Forest climbed to second after defeating Everton 2-0 through Wood and Gibbs-White. Elsewhere, Wolves drew 2-2 with Tottenham, Crystal Palace beat Southampton 2-1, and Bournemouth secured a late 2-2 draw at Fulham.

Chelsea faces Manchester United on Monday, while Arsenal visits Brentford Wednesday.
