Bradenton Water Main Break

BRADENTON, Fla. – A significant water main break has been reported as Hurricane Milton approaches the Florida coast, expected to make landfall on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred in Bradenton, notably impacting water services in the area.

According to the City of Bradenton’s Public Works and Utilities department, the break was located south of 9th Avenue East and north of 26th Avenue East, between 17th Street and 27th Street East. The disruption has affected both residences and businesses, prompting concerns among local residents.

Despite efforts by the city’s public works crews who managed to clamp the pipe, they have been unable to fully repair the break due to the impending storm. “Crews will prioritize the repairs as soon as conditions allow,” an official statement from the department indicated.

With Hurricane Milton approaching, residents are urged to take necessary precautions. Officials recommend ensuring adequate water supplies and considering relocating to one of the county’s emergency shelters to withstand the anticipated impact of the hurricane.
