GW Water Polo Players Earn All-Conference Honors Ahead of Championship

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – The Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) announced its 2025 All-Conference Awards on Thursday, celebrating standout performances from players at George Washington University (GW).

Senior utility Adonis Vlassis received a spot on the All-Conference First Team for his impressive season. Vlassis, hailing from Athens, Greece, is closing in on school records with 103 goals, 46 assists, and 149 points. This marks his second consecutive year earning this prestigious recognition.

Sophomore attacker Antonio Florena also earned accolades, being named to the All-Conference Second Team. The Napoli, Italy native notched 57 goals and 76 points this season, building on his Honorable Mention from the previous year.

Graduate goalkeeper Vasilije Marinkovic and first-year center Andrea Forno received Honorable Mentions for their strong contributions. Marinkovic, from Kotor, Montenegro, had an exceptional season, making 255 saves with a .432 save percentage after transferring from Mount St. Mary's. Forno, a center from Rome, Italy, led the team by drawing a GW single-season record of 93 ejections and scored 59 goals.

GW, ranked No. 3, is gearing up for the MAWPC Championship against No. 6 Mount St. Mary’s on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. This matchup provides an opportunity for GW to capitalize on their successful season.
