Wellington Man Wins $3.9 Million Lottery Prize This Holiday Season

WELLINGTON, Fla. — A Wellington man has won a significant jackpot just in time for the holidays. Shuangjie Fan, 31, claimed the top prize of $5,000 a week for life from the Florida Lottery on Monday.

Fan chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump-sum payment of $3,897,000. He purchased the winning ticket from a Marathon gas station at 2741 S. State Road 7 in Wellington.

The $10 scratch-off game provides overall odds of winning at 1 in 3.30. However, the odds for claiming the top prize are much steeper at 1 in 5,468,865, making Fan’s victory particularly noteworthy.

Lottery officials celebrated his win as a major highlight, especially as many people look for extra cash during the holiday season.
