Wnba Draft Prospects 2025

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The WNBA landscape has undergone significant changes following an intense free agency period, leading to a revamped draft order ahead of the 2025 WNBA Draft. Multiple trades have shaken up the league as teams look to bolster their rosters with top NCAA talent.

During this reshuffling, top college athletes have continued making their mark in the 2024-25 NCAA season, influencing their draft stock. With March around the corner and the college regular season nearing its end, experts are analyzing potential outcomes for the upcoming draft.

CBS Sports has released its 2025 WNBA Mock Draft 2.0, highlighting the prospects that could make waves in the league. Leading the charge is UConn’s Paige Bueckers, who, despite some speculation about her preferences, is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick. Bueckers averaged 18.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2.1 steals this season, showcasing her versatility. ‘Her playmaking skills will be a perfect fit for the Wings,’ said a WNBA analyst.

Another notable name is Notre Dame’s Olivia Miles, projected to go second overall to the Seattle Storm. Miles has rebounded from a torn ACL injury and is averaging 16.7 points, 6 rebounds, and 6.2 assists this season. Her improved 3-point shooting has solidified her reputation as a strong scoring guard. The three-team trade that sent Jewell Loyd to the Aces created the opportunity for the Storm to draft Miles. ‘She will help elevate the Storm’s ambitions,’ said a source close to the team.

The Chicago Sky, facing a talent deficit, are expected to select Miles’ Notre Dame teammate, Sonia Citron, with the third pick. Citron is averaging 13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds and is recognized for her high basketball IQ and defensive prowess. Analysts have touted her as a safe choice for the Sky, who need a reliable 3-and-D player.

As teams look to fill roster gaps, D.C. Mystics are also weighing their options with the fourth pick. They have their sights set on potential centerpiece player Janiah Malonga, who is currently dominating in the EuroCup at just 6-foot-6. ‘Her athleticism is unparalleled, making her an asset for any team,’ commented a draft expert.

At No. 5, the expansion team Valkyries are eyeing USC’s Rayah Iriafen. Iriafen has averaged 17.8 points and 8.3 rebounds this season. With a draft stock that is }expected to rise, the Valkyries hope to capitalize on her local ties.

The upcoming draft will also see plenty of potential guard selections. For the Mystics, selecting Tania Paopao could be a step towards building a future backcourt, while the Liberty, reigning champions, may consider a versatile option like Azzi Fudd, adding depth to their already talented roster.

The 2025 WNBA Draft is still two months away, making it a critical time for these athletes. ‘With Notre Dame expected to advance deep in the postseason, attention on Miles and Citron will intensify,’ said an NCAA analyst.

As trades and changes continue to reshape the teams, the anticipation for the draft builds, reflecting the dynamic nature of the WNBA and its commitment to fostering rising stars in women’s basketball.
