WNBA Star Kelsey Plum and NFL Tight End Darren Waller to Divorce After 1 Year of Marriage
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — WNBA standout Kelsey Plum and NFL tight end Darren Waller are parting ways after a relatively short-lived marriage, as confirmed by recent court filings. The couple, who tied the knot in March 2023, jointly filed for a divorce through the Clark County District Court.
Plum, renowned for her prowess on the court with the Las Vegas Aces, took to social media to express her emotions, stating, ‘I’m devastated. I walked through fire for that man, but now I see it’s time to go.’ The two-time WNBA champion did not disclose the reasons behind the split but alluded to the fact that she plans to share her story at a later time.
Having married just over a year ago, Plum and Waller do not have any children together as per court records. Waller, an NFL player who spent five seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders before being traded to the New York Giants, earned a Pro Bowl nod back in 2020.
Plum, the top pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft by the San Antonio Stars, has enjoyed multiple successes in her career, including winning two WNBA titles with the Aces and clinching a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics as part of the U.S. 3×3 women’s basketball team.
