Wwe Triple H Aaa Acquisition News

LOS ANGELES, California — WWE has announced the acquisition of Lucha Libre AAA, a prominent Mexican professional wrestling promotion. The announcement was made during the WrestleMania 41 Countdown show, with WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque, known as Triple H, highlighting the partnership’s significance.

“When I think Mexico, I think AAA,” Levesque stated during the post-WrestleMania press conference after the thrilling main event where Seth Rollins triumphed over Roman Reigns and CM Punk. He emphasized that the acquisition aims to help grow Lucha Libre globally, noting, “We’re looking to enhance it and give opportunities for talent to grow beyond that.”

The partnership includes plans for a joint event titled “Worlds Collide,” scheduled for June 7 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. This event will feature talents from WWE, NXT, and AAA, promising an exciting night filled with action.

Levesque pointed to the cultural significance of Lucha Libre, explaining that WWE seeks to build upon AAA’s rich heritage. He acknowledged the unique opportunities that lie ahead for luchador-style wrestling, which holds deep-rooted connections in Central and Southern America, as well as among fans in the United States.

El Hijo del Vikingo, a top AAA talent, attended WrestleMania 41 and witnessed the match between El Grande Americano, widely speculated to be Chad Gable, and Rey Fenix. The excitement surrounding the new partnership reverberated throughout the wrestling community.

“AAA has been a family-operated promotion for over three decades,” said AAA General Manager Dorian Roldán Peña. “Our trust could not be better placed than with one of the biggest sports entertainment businesses in the world.” The acquisition is expected to finalize in Q3 of 2025, after the Worlds Collide event.

As WWE shifts its focus to integrating more Latino talent following this acquisition, fans are eager to see how this development will transform the wrestling landscape in the years to come.
