Wwe Wrestling Raw May 2025 Raw Recap

OMAHA, Nebraska – WWE returned to the CHI Health Center for Monday Night Raw on May 5, just days before the Backlash premium live event in St. Louis. The evening was packed with build-ups to key matches, culminating in a heightening tension between various superstars.

The show opened with world heavyweight champion Jey Uso calling out Logan Paul, only for Paul Heyman to interrupt. Heyman delivered a passionate promo challenging Uso and asserting his plan for Seth Rollins to capture the World Heavyweight Championship. Uso accepted the challenge for a title match later that night, declaring his readiness to defend his title.

A notable match followed between Luchador Penta and JD McDonagh. Penta triumphed despite interference attempts from McDonagh’s associates. This contest added more heat to the ongoing rivalry within The Judgment Day faction.

Meanwhile, Austin Theory faced Sheamus, who dominated the match and secured victory with a Brogue Kick. Tension between Theory and Grayson Waller continued to build, creating speculation about a pending split.

In a compelling segment ahead of Saturday’s Women’s Intercontinental Championship match, Becky Lynch and champion Lyra Valkyria confronted each other in the ring. Lynch accused Valkyria of riding on her coattails, while Valkyria reminded Lynch of her own accomplishments, leading to an explosive brawl that saw Valkyria standing tall.

The main event featured Uso defending his championship against Rollins. The match showcased both competitors’ skills, but chaotic interference led to a disqualification victory for Rollins, with the night ending in a brawl that involved CM Punk and Sami Zayn, ultimately setting the stage for future confrontations.

The anticipation for Backlash has reached new heights after this eventful episode, blending exciting matches with dramatic promos, ensuring fans remain on the edge of their seats.
