Xavier Restrepo Nfl Draft Pro Day

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Xavier Restrepo, a wide receiver, faces an uphill battle to secure a roster spot with the Tennessee Titans after a disappointing performance at his pro day. Restrepo attracted significant attention during the 2025 NFL Draft cycle, but on draft day, he was not selected, leaving many surprised.

Typically, when a prospect’s stock drops dramatically, it is due to medical concerns or character issues. In Restrepo’s case, it was his slow 40-yard dash time of 4.83 seconds that turned teams away. He had skipped testing at the NFL Combine, opting to showcase his skills at Miami’s pro day instead.

In a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter), Restrepo explained, “During warm-ups… my right hamstring tightened up on me and prohibited me from running my fastest.” He acknowledged that he had been clocking times between 4.53 and 4.58 seconds in training and felt confident enough to compete despite the injury.

Restrepo’s post-draft comments, while honest, might not have impressed NFL front offices. Although his pro day performance was underwhelming, his game tape suggests that he is more than just numbers. Known for his route-running skills and ability to create separation, Restrepo compensates for his speed with agility and tactical awareness.

At 5-foot-10 and 210 pounds, Restrepo primarily projects as a slot receiver. With a crowded receiver room in Tennessee, competition for a spot on the 53-man roster is fierce. The Titans have veteran players like Tyler Lockett and others, which complicates his chances.

Additionally, the Titans have signed another wide receiver from the Pittsburgh Steelers, likely making it even harder for Restrepo to secure a roster position. He will compete against James Proche and Jha'Quan Jackson for what might be the final receiver spot.

One challenge for Restrepo is his lack of experience on special teams, a crucial element for depth players. In high-pressure situations like roster cuts, teams often look for players who can contribute in multiple areas, which may put Restrepo’s aspirations at risk.

As offseason training continues, the Titans are taking a strategic approach, emphasizing competition within their rookie class. The coaching staff hopes to identify capable players quickly, especially those who can contribute early in their career. For Restrepo, the future remains uncertain as he concentrates on getting back to full health and proving detractors wrong.
