Will Still has officially left his managerial position at Reims in Ligue 1 following a mutual agreement between the English coach and the club’s management.

During a meeting with Reims president Jean-Pierre Caillot and general manager Mathieu Lacour, it was decided that Still, along with his brother and assistant Nicolas, would not continue as head coach in the upcoming season.

The 31-year-old Still, who became the youngest coach in Europe’s top five leagues at the age of 30 in 2022, expressed his gratitude towards Reims for the unique opportunity and unwavering support throughout his tenure.

Having taken temporary charge of the team in October 2022, Still was subject to a €25,000 fine per match as he pursued his UEFA Pro Licence, eventually leading the club to an 11th place finish in Ligue 1.

Reims now find themselves in 11th position on the Ligue 1 table with three matches remaining this season, a contrast to their earlier fifth-place standing under Still’s guidance.

President Caillot of Reims thanked the departing coaching team for their contributions in advancing the club, emphasizing the pride in nurturing Still’s emergence as a head coach with a distinct playing identity.

In a statement, Caillot acknowledged Still’s role in the transformative journey of the club since 2018, particularly in cultivating an internationalized team environment.

Despite parting ways with Reims, Still has expressed his desire to secure a managerial opportunity in England, with previous links to Sunderland when the English club was searching for a new manager, eventually appointing Tony Mowbray.
