Landslip Traps Family of Three in Pune Village Amid Heavy Rains

A family of three remains trapped under debris after a landslip struck Patan village in Pune’s Maval tehsil on July 6, 2026. The incident occurred following heavy monsoon rains that have lashed Maharashtra over the past 48 hours.

Rescue teams have been deployed to the site, but efforts are hampered by continuous downpour and unstable terrain. Local authorities have cordoned off the area as they work to clear the rubble.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for several districts in Maharashtra, including Pune, predicting extremely heavy rainfall through the week. Mumbai, too, has been experiencing waterlogging and disrupted services.

This landslip is the latest in a series of weather-related incidents across the state. Officials urge residents in vulnerable areas to remain vigilant and follow evacuation orders if issued.
