Cameron Carr, Lakers Roll Past Clippers to Stay Unbeaten in Summer League

LAS VEGAS — Rookie Cameron Carr scored 23 points to lead the Lakers to a 99-85 Summer League victory over the Clippers, remaining unbeaten through three preliminary round games at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center.

Chris Manon had a double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds), and Arthur Kaluma added 15 points and four assists as five Lakers scored in double figures. Adou Thiero had 13 points and six rebounds, and AK Okereke contributed 11 points.

Second-year guard Kobe Sanders had 18 points and six rebounds to pace the Clippers (1-2). Rookie guard Keaton Wagler, the No. 13 overall pick, added 16 points, six rebounds and four assists. Second-round draft pick Nick Martinelli contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds in 26 minutes.

The Lakers held an eight-point lead after the first quarter and doubled the margin for a 54-38 advantage by halftime. The lead grew to 23 points after three quarters, and the Clippers (5 for 21 from 3-point range) couldn’t shoot their way out of the hole.

Cameron Carr (23 pts, 3 3PM, 2 stl) showed his potential in this one, dropping eight straight points to push the Lakers to a lead they never relinquished. “Another opportunity to step on the court — it’s a blessing,” said Carr. “We get better every single game. We get more connected every single game. We’re here to win it. We’re not here to play around.”

Kobe Sanders (18 pts, 6 reb, 2 ast) was the top scorer for LA, while Keaton Wagler (16 pts, 6 reb, 4 ast) contributed as well.

Earlier in the day, the Nets forced 28 Kings turnovers and scored 41 points off them, avenging their loss in the 2026 California Classic in a runaway victory. Egor Dёmin (22 pts, 8 ast, 4 stl) led six Brooklyn players in double figures. “They got us in Sacramento, so we had a little bit of fuel and a little bit of energy for this game,” said Mikel Brown Jr.

Trevor Brazile (32 pts on 11-for-19 shooting) had his best game of the summer as the Nuggets held off a late charge by the Thunder. Oklahoma City cut a 12-point fourth quarter deficit to one with 22 seconds to go on a 3-pointer by Peyton Sandfort (19 pts). But Bryce Hopkins (14 pts) put in his own missed layup to push the Nuggets’ lead to three, and Bennett Stirtz (22 pts, 6 ast) and Sandfort missed long 3-pointers on the final possession as Denver held on.

Caleb Wilson (19 pts, 8 reb) and the Bulls defeated the Wizards 99-87, earning their first win in Las Vegas. Jaylin Sellers (24 pts) and Donovan Atwell (19 pts) aided Wilson in pulling out a win. “Jaylin Sellers and Donovan Atwell saved my life. They saved my life,” said Wilson.

Brendan Hausen (20 pts, 6 3PM in 19:12) also went off, while Cameron Boozer (12 pts, 7 reb, 3 ast, 3 stl) helped the Grizzlies to a 106-85 win over the Warriors.

Houston’s Bruce Thornton (18 pts, 4 ast, 2 stl) led the Rockets past the 76ers, stifling Johni Broome (2 pts on 1-for-5 shooting). “The pressure that Houston came out with really set the tempo for them,” said Prime‘s Brent Barry.
