Yesterday, a fresh rumor shed light on Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 lineup, detailing camera upgrades that could set the flagships apart. The leak suggests Samsung is testing a new main camera sensor for the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+, with a Sony component said to be in the works.
The Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra, meanwhile, are expected to share a 50MP ultrawide camera. That much had been hinted at before. But now, we learn more about their zoom setups: the Pro and Ultra will share one zoom camera, while the Ultra alone gets a second telephoto lens. This echoes the approach seen in recent Galaxy S models — but earlier rumors had claimed the Ultra might only have one telephoto. If confirmed, the extra telephoto becomes a key differentiator between Pro and Ultra.
Another divergence? The S Pen. The Pro is rumored to lack one, while the Ultra likely keeps it. Both devices are said to sport a 16MP selfie camera with autofocus, and at least the Pro’s front shooter might gain optical image stabilization (OIS).
The source of today’s leak also confirms the new 50MP main camera for the base S27 and S27+, using a Sony sensor. The entire Galaxy S27 family is expected to launch in early 2027. Internally, the four devices carry codenames: NM1 for the Galaxy S27, NM2 for the S27+, NM3 for the S27 Pro, and NM4 for the S27 Ultra. The “NM” stands for “new miracle” or “next miracle,” with the numbers increasing as you’d expect.
