Steelers’ Jalen Ramsey Starts Camp on PUP List After Knee Injury

One of Pittsburgh’s key defenders is not quite ready for the start of training camp. General Manager Omar Khan told reporters on Tuesday that defensive back Jalen Ramsey suffered a knee injury during minicamp and is beginning camp on the physically unable to perform list.

Khan noted Ramsey’s injury did not require surgery. “He’s recovering. It’ll probably be a couple of weeks, if I had to guess, on his return,” Khan said. “We’re just going to be smart about it. He’s a pro. You guys know how hard he works.”

Offensive tackle Broderick Jones, however, has been cleared to practice after he suffered a season-ending neck injury in 2025. “Obviously, we’re going to be smart in terms of how we progress him,” Khan said of Jones. “But you guys will see him out there on Wednesday.”

Additionally, Khan said cornerback Donte Kent will begin camp on PUP. The Steelers were undergoing their conditioning tests on Tuesday morning, which could result in more players being placed on a list to start camp.
