Travis Barker has lifted the lid on the simple rule he and Kourtney Kardashian swear by to keep their marriage solid. The Blink-182 drummer, 50, insists the couple never goes to bed angry at each other. “We try not to ever fall asleep mad at each other,” he told People.
Even the smallest misunderstandings get resolved before lights out. Barker gave an example: “Hey, I thought you were going to meet me for lunch, and you didn’t text me back right away, so I didn’t know if we were meeting for lunch.” He explained that accountability is key. “Even if it’s just as simple as, like, ‘Oh babe, I take accountability. I’m sorry. I didn’t see your text right away.’ Just resolving anything so you don’t go to bed not feeling connected is really important.”
Long before romance sparked, the two were workout partners. “It’s one of the main reasons we were so close,” said Barker. “We would always work out together and run together before we were ever in a relationship. It’s amazing to be with someone that has the same love for wellness.”
The pair’s journey to matrimony had its own share of twists. After getting engaged in 2021, they had an unofficial wedding in Las Vegas on April 3, 2022, immediately following the Grammy Awards. The legal ceremony took place on May 15 in Santa Barbara, California, followed by a lavish celebration on May 22 at Villa Olivetta, the hilltop estate of designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in Portofino, Italy.
Kourtney wore a one-of-a-kind Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda lace and satin corset mini dress, inspired by 1960s Italian lingerie, with a sweeping veil. The ensemble featured hand-embroidered flowers and an image of the Virgin Mary, along with the words “family, loyalty, respect,” a nod to one of Travis’s tattoos. “Designing my dresses with Domenico and Stefano has been a dream come true in every way,” she told Vogue.
In November 2023, they welcomed their son, Rocky Thirteen Barker, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The couple had previously undergone multiple rounds of IVF before Kourtney became pregnant naturally after stopping treatments in late 2022. She called it “God’s plan.”
The marriage also merged two families. Kourtney shares sons Mason, 16, and Reign, 11, and daughter Penelope, 14, with ex Scott Disick. Travis shares son Landon, 22, and daughter Alabama, 20, with ex-wife Shanna Moakler, and remains close to stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya.
