Microsoft Casual Games has launched a new mobile app for the first time in seven years. Microsoft Jewel is available now as a standalone app for iOS and Android, and it becomes the fifth app in the Microsoft Casual Games mobile lineup.
The launch gives players a new way to enjoy a familiar Match-3 favorite, earn Xbox Achievements on mobile, and keep their progress connected across mobile and PC. If you have played Microsoft Jewel on PC, in Microsoft Solitaire Collection, or through the Xbox mobile app, the gameplay will feel familiar. Match three or more jewels to clear them from the board, build your score, and make room for your next move.
It is easy to jump in for a few minutes, with plenty of opportunities to keep playing when you have more time. At the heart of Microsoft Jewel is the simple satisfaction of finding the right match. Each move can open new possibilities across the board. Create Bonus Jewels, place them where they will have the biggest impact, and use power-ups to set off chain reactions. Daily Challenges give players a new goal each day, whether they are completing the latest challenge, chasing a higher score, or simply returning for another round.
Microsoft Jewel also gives players a new way to earn Xbox Achievements from a mobile device. Sign in with a Microsoft account to track your accomplishments and keep building your Xbox profile wherever you play. Sign in with a Microsoft account to sync your progress between Microsoft Jewel on iOS, Android, and the standalone PC app. Play on your phone while you are away from your computer, then return to the PC version without starting over.
Xbox Game Pass members receive Premium benefits when playing Microsoft Jewel on PC, including an ad-free experience and additional in-game benefits. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members receive those Premium benefits on both PC and mobile.
Microsoft is expanding its lineup of casual mobile games with Microsoft Jewel, which is now available on iOS and Android with Xbox Achievements support. The game supports cross-progression across mobile and PC, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will also enjoy an ad-free experience on all platforms. Microsoft Jewel is the fifth mobile game from Microsoft, joining Wordament, Mahjong, Sudoku, and the Microsoft Solitaire Collection. It is also the company’s first new mobile game launch in seven years, even though Microsoft Jewel was already integrated into the Rewards tab of the Xbox mobile app. For those unfamiliar with it, Microsoft Jewel is a Candy Crush-like game where players need to match three or more jewels to clear them from a board.
As part of the ongoing Xbox reset, Xbox Chief Content Officer Matt Booty announced last week that the Microsoft Casual Games team would be joining Candy Crush developer King. Booty said that this was all about “uniting our two global leaders in casual game design and live operations.”
