Nate Bargatze’s Acting Debut Features Comedy All-Stars

ATLANTA, Ga. – Nate Bargatze is set to make his feature acting debut in the upcoming comedy film The Breadwinner. Directed by Eric Appel for TriStar Pictures, production is set to begin next week in Atlanta.
The film follows the unique journey of Bargatze’s character, whose life takes a surprising turn when his entrepreneurial wife makes a deal on Shark Tank. Once the family’s main provider, he becomes a stay-at-home dad, only to find himself overwhelmed by the challenges that ensue.
Mandy Moore stars as Bargatze’s wife, while Stella Grace Fitzgerald, Birdie Borria, and Charlotte Ann Tucker portray their daughters. Bargatze, a top touring comedian, co-wrote the script and is also producing the film alongside Dan Lagna.
The film has gathered a star-studded cast, including Saturday Night Live alumni Bobby Moynihan and Colin Jost, as well as comedian Kumail Nanjiani. Each brings a unique flair to the project, amplifying its comedic potential.
Jost, a long-time SNL writer and co-anchor of Weekend Update, has received multiple awards for his work, while Nanjiani is renowned for his roles in films like The Big Sick and shows like Hulu’s Welcome to Chippendales. Zach Cherry and Kate Berlant also join the ensemble, adding their comedic talent to the mix.
