New York Jets Rank Low in NFL Playmaker Ratings

NEW YORK, NY — The New York Jets have been ranked 27th in the NFL for their running back, wide receiver, and tight end groups by ESPN’s Bill Barnwell. This ranking highlights the Jets’ struggles as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Garrett Wilson, a standout wide receiver for the Jets, is set to work with his ninth different starting quarterback, Justin Fields. Wilson is expected to carry the team’s passing attack, especially with the absence of star wideout Davante Adams. He has drawn comparisons to Terry McLaurin, another player who excelled despite quarterback changes.
Breece Hall, the Jets’ promising running back from the 2022 draft, has had a season marred by injuries and performance issues. Although Hall managed to stay healthy for most of the 2024 season, he only achieved 100 rushing yards once and recorded more fumbles than rushing touchdowns. As he enters a crucial contract year, he faces competition from rookie Braelon Allen, who offers a more powerful presence at 6-foot-1 and 235 pounds.
The Jets have added a few new players to their roster, including veteran wide receiver Josh Reynolds and rookie tight end Mason Taylor. Nonetheless, the Jets’ overall offensive depth is questionable. Last season, Reynolds had limited success, recording just 13 catches throughout the campaign.
Despite having two potential stars in Wilson and Hall, the Jets’ supporting cast lacks reliability. Only time will tell if the Jets can improve their ranking and maximize the talents of their playmakers as they continue to search for stability at quarterback.
