Ucf Quarterback Tayven Jackson Injury Kansas State

MANHATTAN, Kansas — UCF‘s starting quarterback, Tayven Jackson, suffered an upper body injury during the first half of Saturday’s game against Kansas State. In the second quarter, he was struck by Wildcats defensive end Cody Stufflebean after releasing a pass and landed awkwardly on the turf.

Jackson attempted to get back on his feet but fell again. Medical staff rushed to assist him, and after a brief evaluation, he was seen heading to the locker room without his pads and jersey. The Knights initially trailed 3-0 at the time of the injury and were down 17-7 at halftime.

Jacurri Brown stepped in as quarterback following Jackson’s exit. However, his first completion ended in an interception during a crucial 3rd-and-8 situation. Jackson’s performance prior to the injury saw him complete 5 of 9 passes for 18 yards.

Before taking the field against Kansas State, Jackson had led UCF to a 3-0 record during the season, replacing an injured Cam Fancher in the opener against Jacksonville State. In that game, Jackson directed two fourth-quarter touchdowns, securing a 17-10 victory. He also played well in subsequent games against North Carolina, leading the Knights to wins.

Jackson returned to the sidelines wearing a sling on his left arm, providing a concerning sight for UCF fans. As the Knights continue their campaign in the Big 12, they look to recover from this setback and keep their season on track.
