Rcpa Press Conference Pennsylvania Budget

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Rehabilitation and Community Providers Association (RCPA) is urging Governor Josh Shapiro and the Pennsylvania General Assembly to finalize the state budget. RCPA joined a coalition of advocates to call for a budget that adequately supports health and human services, emphasizing the critical need for action as the budget impasse extends into its fourth month.

To highlight this urgent situation, the Coalition of Critical Services Providers will host a press conference on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Capitol Rotunda. The event will feature speakers from RCPA and other coalition members, advocating for a swift resolution to ensure that essential services for Pennsylvania residents can continue.

The ongoing budget deadlock has significant real-world consequences. A recent survey conducted by the Coalition reveals that many organizations across all 67 counties are struggling to provide necessary services due to funding shortages. Children, families, and older adults are notably impacted, with reports of diminished resources and care options as the crisis deepens.

The Coalition is dedicated to illustrating the dire effects of this budget impasse on vulnerable Pennsylvanians as October approaches. Coalition members encourage participation in the press conference and urge anyone planning to attend to contact RCPA’s COO and Mental Health Services Director for additional information.

The Coalition consists of various organizations, including the Community Action Association of Pennsylvania, Feeding PA, and the Pennsylvania Association of Area Agencies on Aging, among others. These groups are committed to providing critical services across the Commonwealth and are rallying together to ensure that budget solutions are reached promptly.
