New York, NY — Naomi Osaka shared her disappointment after her semifinal loss at the 2025 US Open, where she revealed a special labubu doll she had hoped to unveil. The former world No. 1 was eliminated by Amanda Anisimova, who went on to become the runner-up in the tournament.

Osaka had showcased several bedazzled labubu dolls throughout the Grand Slam event, starting with her first-round match, where she wore sparkly red roses in her hair and glittery red accessories. She carried a customized red labubu doll adorned with red and gold crystals.

The two-time US Open champion named each doll after legendary players, including “Billie Jean Bling” inspired by Billie Jean King and “Andre Swagassi” for Andre Agassi. However, her most anticipated creation, a doll inspired by her green outfit from the 2024 US Open, remained a secret due to her early exit.

At a press conference following her semifinal defeat, Osaka expressed her feelings about the lost opportunity. “I wanted to make one of myself in last year’s outfit, and it was the green one… honestly, I’m fine losing, but don’t ask me about this Labubu,” she said.

Recently, Osaka took to social media to finally present this coveted green labubu doll, calling it her “very last” creation. In her Instagram post, she shared her excitement with the caption, “Allow me to finally introduce the very last labubu…” and included images of her last year’s outfit.

On the tennis front, Osaka’s most recent competition was the 2025 China Open, where she was seeded 12th and lost to Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the second round.

Looking ahead, Osaka is set to compete in the 2025 Wuhan Open from October 6 to October 12, where she is seeded 11th. She will face Leylah Fernandez in the first round, an opponent she has only played once before, during the 2021 US Open.

The winner of the Osaka-Fernandez match will go on to face either Linda Nosková or qualifier Yulia Putintseva in the next round.
