Allen Iverson and Tawanna Turner Reignite Romance After Years Apart

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Allen Iverson recently revealed that he may be back together with Tawanna Turner, his former wife, during an appearance on “The Stephen A. Smith Show.” The couple, who have had an on-and-off relationship for over 35 years, divorced in 2013 after a tumultuous marriage.
During the interview, Iverson spoke about his personal growth, saying, “She had to be extremely strong then. But I’m around a lot more now.” At 50 years old, Iverson reflects on his past behavior, explaining how his lifestyle affected their relationship.
Iverson admitted that he stopped drinking six months ago, describing it as the best feeling in the world. He acknowledged the challenges Tawanna faced during their marriage due to his excessive partying and drinking. “For her to be that strong, and the love for me… it was a lot,” he said.
The couple first met in high school and married on August 3, 2001, in Voorhees, New Jersey. However, the marriage struggled under the pressure of Iverson’s fame, leading to Tawanna filing for divorce in 2011.
Despite their divorce, they have remained close. On his 50th birthday last June, they shared a dance that highlighted their enduring bond. When asked if rekindling their romance motivated his decision to quit drinking, Iverson clarified it wasn’t the main reason, but he noted improvements in his personal life since the change.
Iverson is learning from his past and focusing on a healthier lifestyle. He expressed hope that things can be better moving forward. He stated, “I’m not content with where I’m at; I think a lot of personal things will be better if I took that out of my life.” NBA fans are rooting for Iverson as he continues to evolve.
