Playstation Network Outage News

Tokyo, Japan — Thousands of users faced issues with Sony‘s PlayStation Network on Monday afternoon, according to Down Detector. At the height of the outage, nearly 9,000 reports were logged, largely attributed to server problems.

Over 81% of reports indicated server issues, echoing complaints on social media. Many users reported receiving the error code WS-11649-5 when trying to log into their accounts. This error typically results from sign-in issues, regional mismatches, account restrictions, or in some cases, corrupted system data.

Unfortunately, the outage was due to maintenance, meaning users had no ability to resolve the error themselves. However, individuals were advised to check account settings, restart their consoles, or rebuild their databases in Safe Mode to troubleshoot potential issues on their end.

“PlayStation servers going down right in the middle of my road to champ dps,” one disgruntled user tweeted. Another lamented, “PlayStation network going down on a random Monday night as if the world wasn’t messed up enough.”

This outage prompted significant frustration, with users questioning the timing of maintenance late at night. “Lol PlayStation servers down lets see how fast people rush over. Who does maintenance on a Monday at 9:30 PM?” said another player on Twitter.

As users await the restoration of services, they hope the network will be back online soon, allowing them to access their gaming experiences once again.
