Jaguars Suffer 35-7 Loss and Injury to Star Receiver in London
JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The Jacksonville Jaguars faced a tough defeat against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, losing 35-7 at Wembley Stadium in London. The game was overshadowed by an injury to star wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., who left the game with an apparent shoulder injury late in the fourth quarter.
Thomas sustained the injury after a seemingly minor collision with Rams cornerback Cobie Durant while running a route. He immediately grabbed his right shoulder in pain, prompting medical staff to attend to him on the field. Although he managed to walk off under his own power, Thomas did so gingerly, avoiding movement of his injured arm.
With just minutes remaining in the game and the Jaguars trailing by 28 points, Thomas did not return to the field. Jaguars head coach Liam Coen did not provide an update on Thomas’s condition during the postgame press conference, leaving uncertainty about how long he might be sidelined.
The Jaguars, who now have a bye week, are facing a stretch of games without their leading receivers if Thomas’s injury proves serious. In his absence, players like Zay Jones and Calvin Ridley may see increased workloads as the team looks to rebound from their second consecutive loss.
On the field, the Jaguars struggled against a dominant Rams team, yielding seven sacks and committing numerous penalties. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence was under constant pressure throughout the game, and the team’s offensive struggles were evident.
As they prepare for their bye week, the Jaguars have much to reflect on following this disappointing performance and hope for a swift recovery for their star receiver.
