SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Mammoth have signed forward Logan Cooley to an eight-year, $80 million contract extension. The deal, announced Wednesday, ensures the 21-year-old center will remain with the Mammoth through the 2033-34 season.

Cooley currently leads the Mammoth with eight goals and is tied for second in points with 12 during the team’s impressive start to the season, holding a record of 8-3-0. Previously drafted third overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2022 NHL Draft, he is now an integral part of the Mammoth’s lineup.

“Choosing to play with this group of teammates was the easiest part of this decision,” Cooley stated. “Living in Utah has been amazing since day one. The atmosphere at the Delta Center and the support from our fans are unreal. This is an awesome day for me and my family, and I am proud to commit to the state of Utah and the Mammoth.”

In recent matches, Cooley had scored two goals against the Minnesota Wild, contributing significantly to the team’s momentum. His performance positions him as a leading candidate for a spot on the U.S. Olympic team in the upcoming Milano Cortina games.

Utah Mammoth General Manager Bill Armstrong expressed excitement about the extension, stating, “Logan is not only an incredible player but an even better person. He will have a major impact in Utah for many years to come.”

The Mammoth will host the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday, aiming to continue their successful campaign.
