Harry Meghan Markle Dodgers Game

Los Angeles, CA — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stirred up controversy during Game 4 of the 2025 World Series on October 28 as they occupied front-row seats at Dodger Stadium, sitting in front of baseball legend Sandy Koufax and basketball icon Magic Johnson.

The Sussexes attended the game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers, showcasing their allegiance to the Dodgers by wearing matching blue caps. Social media erupted with fans expressing their discontent over their prominent seating positions, questioning why Koufax, a four-time World Series champion, was seated behind them.

Mets broadcaster Howie Rose voiced his frustration on X, stating, “How does Sandy end up in the second row? Sandy Koufax takes a back seat to no one.” Many fans echoed his sentiment, with one writing, “Prince Harry and his wife sitting IN FRONT of Sandy Koufax? Un-fn-real.”

Koufax, now 89, is renowned as one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history. He debuted with the Dodgers when they were still in Brooklyn, and his career accolades include three Cy Young Awards and induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. His career record stands at 165-87, with a remarkable 2.87 ERA.

Former NBA star Magic Johnson, who is also a Dodgers co-owner, sat behind the Sussexes. Some fans felt his status was unjustly overlooked in favor of the royal couple. One fan questioned, “Isn’t Magic Johnson royalty?”

The attention on the Sussexes continued as they cheered during the game, capturing moments alongside fellow celebrities like James Marsden and Sydney Sweeney. The spotlight on them raised eyebrows, especially among locals who felt the presence of British royalty overshadowed iconic American athletes.

Despite the mixed reactions, Harry and Meghan appeared to enjoy the game. Knowing the stakes, the Dodgers turned to pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 6, needing a win to stay in the series following a heart-wrenching 6-1 loss to the Blue Jays in Game 5.

Game 6 is scheduled for October 30 at 8 p.m. ET, with FOX broadcasting the pivotal match. As the teams vie for the championship, the dynamics off the field continue to garner just as much attention as the game itself.
