Nebraska Volleyball Dominates UCLA in Friday Clash
Los Angeles, California – The No. 1 Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team faced off against UCLA on Friday night, continuing their undefeated season with a dominant performance. The match, held at Pauley Pavilion, saw Nebraska improve to a remarkable 25-0 record.
Despite a rough start that saw both teams struggle to gain momentum, Nebraska secured the first set 25-13, aided by 21 kills and a hitting percentage of .250. UCLA, however, began to find its rhythm in the second set, taking an early lead. The Bruins momentarily held the advantage, but the Cornhuskers rallied back and clinched the set 25-23.
Leading the offensive charge for Nebraska were Rebekah Allick and Harper Murray, who combined for 15 kills. The team’s overall hitting percentage rose to .317, compared to UCLA’s .197. On defense, Nebraska continued to shine, limiting opponents to a hitting percentage of just .122 this season, the best in the nation.
UCLA came into the match with a 14-10 record and had recently secured a five-set victory over Northwestern. However, the Bruins struggled against the intensity of Nebraska’s play and were unable to maintain a significant lead during the match.
As the contest progressed, Nebraska extended its winning streak to 15 consecutive matches, achieving 46 straight set wins. The last time the Huskers lost a set was during the 2023 season. This remarkable record highlights Nebraska’s strong performance throughout the season.
