HOUSTON, Texas — Ryan Chase has left Cumulus Media’s KRBE, ending a 19-year tenure on the popular morning show, “The Roula & Ryan Show with Eric.” His exit was announced last week, causing a stir among loyal listeners.

Chase teamed with Roula Christie and producer Eric Rowe back in 2002 at Hot AC station “Mix 96.5” KHMX. The trio transitioned to KRBE in July 2006 and updated the show’s name earlier this year. Chase, who previously worked at various prestigious stations including New York’s CHR “Z100” and “92.3 K-Rock,” rounds out a storied career in radio.

This morning, Christie and Rowe addressed listeners about Chase’s departure. Christie expressed her sadness, saying, “We’re gonna miss a lot of things. Nobody plans for this. We just signed a five-year deal. I know you want us to tell you things, but we cannot.” Rowe, visibly affected by the news, shared, “I’m in shock. I’m bummed.” The pair made it clear they were unable to provide further details regarding the departure.

As of now, KRBE’s official website lists the morning show as “The Roula Show with Eric ft. Special K & Sam,” signifying a shift in the show’s structure following Chase’s exit.

Chase has not publicly commented on his departure, and efforts to reach him and management at KRBE have gone unanswered. His absence marks a significant change in Houston‘s radio landscape.

Chase’s lengthy career includes stops at notable stations, and he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2016, yet he continued to engage fans throughout his time on air. As the community reflects on his impact, many will reminisce about his contributions to local radio.
