Wet Wednesday Morning Commute Expected in Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Commuters in Philadelphia should prepare for a wet Wednesday morning as overnight rain continues to affect the region.
According to Bill Kelly‘s forecast, steady precipitation will persist through the morning, tapering off around 7 a.m. Areas to the north, particularly the Poconos, may even experience a wintry mix due to low temperatures hovering around freezing.
The remainder of the region is experiencing low temperatures in the 30s and 40s. On Wednesday, high temperatures are only expected to reach the mid-40s.
Motorists are advised to carry umbrellas and wear jackets during their morning drive, as rain will be widespread until at least 8 a.m. Parents dropping kids off at school should prepare for wet conditions, suggesting that coats, boots, and umbrellas are necessary to keep children dry.
For those in the higher elevations of the Poconos, an inch or two of wet snow is possible by sunrise.
By mid to late morning, the rain should end, but cloudy skies will remain along with the chilly weather. Although it will be a raw day for this time of year, breaks in the clouds are expected by the evening.
Looking ahead, Thursday is predicted to be dry with slightly warmer temperatures, though still cool. Another weather system may bring showers Friday night into Saturday morning, primarily affecting southern areas.
The rest of the weekend looks brighter, with pleasant conditions forecasted for Sunday, coinciding with the Philly marathon.
The following temperature outlook includes a mild start to Thanksgiving week with good travel conditions anticipated on Monday.
