Georgia QB Dylan Raiola Decommits from Nebraska Ahead of Signing Day
Buford, Georgia – Dylan Raiola, a three-star quarterback from Buford High School, has decommitted from Nebraska after more than a year of commitment. Raiola’s decision to reopen his recruitment comes just weeks before National Signing Day on December 3, leading to speculation about his next move.
Raiola originally committed to Nebraska on September 22, 2024, choosing the Cornhuskers over teams like Charlotte and Appalachian State. He is currently ranked as the No. 1602 overall prospect and the No. 99 quarterback in the nation for the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. Raiola also holds the No. 158 ranking among players in Georgia.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 225 pounds, Raiola has proven to be a talented quarterback, throwing for over 3,600 yards and recording 43 touchdowns over the past two seasons. His performance as a junior led the Buford Wolves to a Class 6A semifinal appearance, and they are expected to make another deep playoff run this year.
The recent news follows another decommitment from Nebraska’s 2026 recruiting class. Leon Noil Jr., a three-star inside offensive lineman, also announced his decision to back off his commitment to Nebraska, further impacting the Cornhuskers’ already shaky recruiting standings. Noil, who stands 6-foot-5 and hails from New Orleans, committed to Nebraska in June but is now exploring other opportunities.
With these developments, Nebraska’s class of 2026 has shrunk to just 10 commits. The class includes four-star cornerback Danny Odem and four-star offensive tackle Claude Mpouma, alongside several three-star recruits.
Nebraska currently ranks at No. 91 in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite, placing them last in the Big Ten Conference. In contrast, their 2027 recruiting class is shaping up to be much stronger, currently sitting at No. 5 nationally, highlighted by five-star prospect Tory Pittman III.
The coaching staff, led by head coach Matt Rhule, is now facing increased pressure to rebuild and strengthen the team’s future as they navigate this recruiting cycle.
