COLUMBIA, S.C. – The No. 2/2 South Carolina women’s basketball team will host the Winthrop Eagles on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Colonial Life Arena. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on the SEC Network.

The Gamecocks, who are currently 4-0 this season, are looking to continue their strong start against the 2-2 Eagles. South Carolina is under the guidance of head coach Dawn Staley, while Winthrop is coached by Semeka Randall.

In their latest performance, South Carolina showcased significant rebounding prowess, currently sitting 15th in the country with an average of 48.8 rebounds per game and ranking 11th in rebounding margin at +19.0. Senior Madina Okot leads the team in rebounds, averaging 10.5 per game, making her third in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and 30th nationally.

Joyce Edwards has also been a standout for the Gamecocks, averaging 18.0 points per game, and ranks second on the team in rebounds with 6.8 per game. Meanwhile, Winthrop’s top scorer is Amouri Porter, who averages 16.0 points and is also their leading rebounder with 8.0 boards per game.

Historically, South Carolina leads the all-time series against Winthrop with a record of 8-5. The Gamecocks have won the last six encounters, including a decisive 86-37 victory in their most recent matchup on December 13, 2015.

In their previous game, South Carolina defeated Clemson 65-37, marking their 15th consecutive win over their in-state rival. Coach Dawn Staley expressed confidence in her team’s defense, noting their ability to clamp down during critical moments of the game.

As the Gamecocks prepare for their matchup against Winthrop, they look to solidify their strong start to the season and extend their winning streak.
