Gabrielle Henry Miss Universe Competition

Pak Kret, Thailand – A joyful evening at the Miss Universe 2025 preliminary competition turned dramatic when Gabrielle Henry, Miss Universe Jamaica, fell off the stage during her evening gown presentation on November 19. The accident shocked attendees, including Raúl Rocha, president of the Miss Universe Organization, and Nawat Itsaragrisil, director of Miss Universe Thailand.

The 28-year-old was wearing a stunning orange gown adorned with sparkling embellishments when she lost her footing, stepping off the edge of the stage. Witnesses reported that she fell into an opening in the stage design, prompting immediate reactions from Rocha and Itsaragrisil, who rushed to her aid as paramedics were summoned.

Despite the ongoing competition, which continued with the remaining contestants, Gabrielle was taken away on a stretcher to receive medical attention. Rocha, who stayed at her side until she was out of danger, later updated fans through social media. “I just left the hospital where she is being treated. Fortunately, she has no broken bones and is receiving excellent care,” he stated.

Gabrielle, an ophthalmologist and advocate for the visually impaired, had achieved her dream of competing in Miss Universe this year after being crowned Miss Jamaica Universe last August. Initially, she competed in 2023 but did not win the title.

The incident prompted additional concern as another contestant, Danielle Latimer, Miss Universe Great Britain, experienced a less severe mishap during her presentation in the national costume segment. While dressed as Eliza Doolittle from ‘My Fair Lady,’ she tripped but continued her moment on stage unharmed.

As of now, it remains uncertain if Gabrielle will return for the final competition scheduled for November 20. Rocha expressed his support, stating they would stay in touch with her family as she recuperates.
