Terry Bradshaw Absent from Fox NFL Coverage Due to Illness
Los Angeles, California – Terry Bradshaw was absent from Fox‘s NFL coverage on Sunday after being sent home due to illness. The former quarterback, now 77, did not appear on Week 11’s Fox NFL Sunday, leaving hosts Curt Menefee, Howie Long, and Michael Strahan to carry on without him.
Bradshaw’s absence raised concerns among fans about his health, following a series of troubling appearances on earlier shows. Many viewers questioned the reason for his leave and expressed worries for his well-being.
On social media, Bradshaw put fans’ concerns to rest, stating, ‘Just in case you notice, won’t be on Fox today. Just have a cold. All good.’ He posted this message against a colorful background on Instagram.
Menefee addressed Bradshaw’s absence during the show, saying, ‘Terry Bradshaw is not with us. He came to work sick this morning so decided to go home.’ However, Strahan humorously disputed this, indicating that the decision was made by the network. ‘He decided to go home? We sent him home,’ Strahan remarked.
Having been a prominent figure on Fox’s NFL programming for over three decades, Bradshaw joined CBS as a game analyst after retiring from football in 1984, then switched to Fox a decade later. In recent years, his appearances have sparked calls for him to retire, especially after a confusing story he shared with colleagues last month.
He had claimed to have contacted Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, only to discover he had actually been messaging a pig seller. ‘I shouldn’t have told y’all that, so that you thought that I actually talked to Andy Reid,’ Bradshaw admitted, leaving his co-hosts stunned.
In addition to the bizarre story, Bradshaw has faced criticism for mispronouncing names during broadcasts, including a mishap during a scoring update involving the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints. Fans remained critical of his performance, comparing him to public figures known for similar verbal blunders.
This latest incident has renewed discussions about Bradshaw’s future in broadcasting as fans express their opinions on social media.
