Singer D4vd Named Suspect in Teen’s Death Investigation
LOS ANGELES, CA — Singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is being listed as a suspect in the death investigation of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Her decomposed remains were uncovered on September 8 inside a Tesla vehicle registered to D4vd, according to law enforcement sources.
Celeste, reported missing last year from Lake Elsinore, California, was last heard from in May 2024. Investigators believe the teenager’s death occurred earlier this year, possibly in the spring, and may have involved homicide.
The LAPD discovered her remains after responding to reports of a foul odor from the Tesla, which had been abandoned and impounded. Inside the vehicle, police found her body wrapped in a bag within the front trunk, or “frunk,” of the car.
Officials have stated that the body showed signs of dismemberment and was in an advanced state of decomposition. Due to the condition of the remains, a cause of death has not yet been determined by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
A source familiar with the investigation noted that D4vd has not been cooperative with authorities. As the investigation continues, no arrests have been made. The LAPD is exploring leads and has contacted several individuals who might have knowledge of the case.
D4vd, 20 years old, gained popularity through platforms like TikTok, where he has more than 3.6 million followers. He was on tour when Celeste’s body was discovered, with his tour schedule disrupted in light of the investigation.
Celeste’s brother, Matthew Rivas, stated that family members were aware of her acquaintance with D4vd. He reported that she had gone missing while she was supposedly heading to see a movie with him.
As the murder investigation unfolds, authorities maintain that the case remains active. The search for further evidence is underway, and lab results from ongoing tests are anticipated to provide more clarity regarding Celeste’s death.
