Kenny Omega Video Game

Las Vegas, Nevada – Former world champion Kenny Omega is setting his sights on making appearances in non-wrestling video games, inspired by his AEW colleague Samoa Joe. In a recent interview, Omega expressed his ambition to create a character that is distinct from his wrestling persona.

“Samoa Joe being in that game is very inspirational and I hope to one day follow in his footsteps and have a fully fleshed out character that isn’t Kenny Omega that’s in a game,” Omega said, referencing Joe’s role in the upcoming title, ‘Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii,’ released in February 2025 by SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios.

In that game, Samoa Joe portrays Raymond Law, one of the antagonists. Omega himself previously appeared in the 2023 remake of ‘Like A Dragon: Ishin’ as a special ‘Trooper Card’ character, marking a limited involvement compared to Joe’s substantial role.

In the same interview with SHAK Wrestling, Omega opened up about his personal struggles, including a recent battle with diverticulitis. He commented on his wrestling career, saying, “I would like to be in a situation where I left the ring not having any regrets, and not feeling embarrassed or that I tarnished my reputation. So I’d like to leave while I have some semblance of athleticism left in my body. I don’t want to completely work until the wheels fall off, and the person who leaves wrestling is one who barely resembles the Kenny Omega of old.”

At 42 years old, Omega is scheduled to compete at the upcoming Full Gear Pay-Per-View event against The Young Bucks and Josh Alexander. His ambitions in the gaming industry show that he is looking to expand his career beyond the wrestling ring.
