Rumors Stir About Possible Cancellation of GTA 6
Los Angeles, CA – Rumors about the cancellation of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) are spreading online, fueled by delays and fan frustration. The anticipation for the game has been long, especially after the release of GTA 5 in 2013.
Recently, Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser warned about the growing obsession with profit in the gaming industry. His comments have sparked discussions about whether this could impact the future of GTA 6, which is now set to launch on November 19, 2026.
Houser, who left Rockstar in 2020 to start a new company, discussed the industry’s challenges during an interview on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch. He indicated that financial pressures could overshadow creativity within the video game market. “With all things, it can either go somewhere really interesting or somewhere that gets overly focused on making money,” he said. “There’s always that danger with any commercial art form that they get distracted by money.”
The situation intensified when around 30 employees were let go from Rockstar amid accusations of “union-busting.” These events have led some fans to worry about the game’s future.
Despite the ongoing concerns, reports suggest that Rockstar is still moving forward with GTA 6 and aims for a 2026 release, calming fears of cancellation.
