ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — A pair of New York City residents were found dead in a hotel room at the Borgata casino on Sunday afternoon, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding their deaths, according to prosecutors.

The bodies of 68-year-old Wei Guo Liang from Brooklyn and 36-year-old Baoyi Bowie Zheng from Staten Island were discovered by authorities around 5 p.m. in the upscale hotel, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office reported.

Autopsies revealed that Zheng died from a broken neck, while Liang succumbed to self-inflicted stab wounds. Prosecutors have not released additional details, including whether this incident may have been a murder-suicide.

A spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office indicated they would refrain from further commenting on the case until their investigation concludes. The major crimes unit, along with the Atlantic City police, are currently looking into the matter.

An email sent to MGM Resorts International, which operates the Borgata, was not immediately responded to as of Wednesday morning.

The Borgata is touted as offering an unparalleled travel experience on the East Coast, featuring 2,000 rooms, a large casino, and numerous amenities.
