Arsenal Women Gear Up For High Stakes North London Derby At Emirates Stadium

Arsenal Women are preparing to face their fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a highly-anticipated North London Derby at the iconic Emirates Stadium. With over 60,000 tickets already sold, this match marks a historic back-to-back sellout for Arsenal’s women’s team at their home ground.

In their last encounter at the Emirates, Arsenal secured a convincing victory over Tottenham Hotspur with goals from stars like Beth Mead, Vivianne Miedema, and Rafaelle. However, Spurs turned the tables in December, defeating the Gunners at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Just ahead of the showdown, Arsenal’s manager Jonas Eidevall disclosed that key player Vivianne Miedema is set for a spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury requiring minor surgery. Yet, the squad receives boosts with the return of Leah Williamson, Victoria Pelova, and Katie McCabe. Players like Amanda Ilestedt, Laura Wienroither, and Teyah Goldie, along with others, continue their recovery or national team commitments.

Eidevall emphasized the challenge Spurs pose, acknowledging their recent improvements, while Tottenham’s coach Vilahamn expressed his team’s intent to play attacking football and go for the win against their more illustrious rivals.

Abi Byrne and the officiating team will oversee the action at Emirates Stadium, with broadcast coverage starting on BBC Two and iPlayer ahead of the 12:30pm kick-off.
