Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber Split After 3 Years Together

Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber have ended their relationship after more than three years together, sources confirmed to PEOPLE. The couple, who first sparked romance rumors in December 2021, went their separate ways near the end of 2024.

TMZ first reported the split, noting that Butler, 33, was noticeably absent from Gerber’s family vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, during the New Year’s celebrations. The model, 23, was joined by her parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, and her brother, Presley Gerber, along with his girlfriend, Isabella Jones.

The couple made their red carpet debut at W Magazine‘s Best Performances party in March 2022 and were frequently seen together at high-profile events, including the Met Gala that same year. Throughout their relationship, Gerber supported Butler during his awards season run for his role in ‘Elvis,’ which earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor.

Despite their public appearances, the couple kept their relationship relatively private. In a February 2024 interview with WSJ. Magazine, Gerber emphasized the importance of maintaining privacy in her personal life. ‘Honestly, I feel like so few things in my life are private, and that is one of the things that I try to keep as sacred as possible,’ she said.

Butler and Gerber’s relationship began after both had high-profile previous romances. Gerber was previously linked to actor Jacob Elordi, while Butler dated Vanessa Hudgens for eight years before their split in 2020.
